Tarpon Bugg 3.0

New for 2025, the Tarpon Bugg 3.0 gives you the best chance, to hook, land, and release the mightiest of game fish.  These new Buggs are ideal for small, medium, and even larger Tarpon near the surface.  They imitate a bait fish and look alive because of the rabbit we incorporate in the design.  We solved the hook and hookup issues from the 2nd Gen.  Here’s how:  We switched to a wider gap, thinner wire hook for better penetration.  The Owner Aki Light is incredibly sharp, strong, and will penetrate the hard mouth of a Tarpon.  The hook point is up, because we want it in the top of the mouth.  A silicone component between the closed shank and the hook eye will keep the hook point up, keep it from moving on the retrieve, but allow some movement during the fight.   The last two improvements we made were to make the Bugg shorter and to incorporate foam on top to slow the sink rate.  The foam also makes it fatter to move more water.  The weight listed is the lead weight only.  All of these Buggs will be heavier and easier to cast when wet.  But the weight is on the bottom of the Bugg, and the foam is tied on top to keep it from sinking quickly.  The 1/8 oz. and 1/4 oz. versions are 3.5″ long and feature a 3/0 hook.  They’re best for small to medium sized Tarpon.  The 3/8 oz. version is 4″ long and features a 5/0 hook.  They’re good for medium to largers sized Tarpon you’ll find near the surface.  The Coastal Combo is best for stained, off color water.  The Clearwater Combo is best in clear water.   These Buggs were designed with valuable input from Captain Michael Snoeck from Florida.  Contact him at 239-281-4700 or at redfish71072@gmail.com.
